Surf's why, and what we built this week: U.S. equity, Hyperliquid, Grok unlimited

Ryan, CEO of Surf AI views every asset will eventually be issued and traded onchain, which makes "crypto" as a separate asset class a distinction that stops meaning anything. Surf is building for that: this week we added Hyperliquid wallet connect so you can analyze your own trading against the full indexed exchange, and financial data on 4,500+ U.S. public companies so research spans crypto and equities in one place. We also opened Deep Research to everyone free and unlimited on Grok 4.6, with GPT Sol 5.6 and Claude Fable 5 joining the model lineup. That's 3 sentences, roughly 90 words. If it's for Strapi's excerpt or meta description field, most setups cut around 155-160 characters for SEO, so say the word and I'll cut a short version too, or add either one to the file.

Surf's vision on crypto's future

In a couple of years, I think every asset will be issued and traded onchain.
As we move through the ages of crypto, the only thing it has proven is that it enables two things: asset issuance and asset transfer.
While this may not be the grand mission we expected the idea of decentralization to achieve, it has led various financial (and non-financial!) instruments to onramp into blockchain to be traded, such as ETFs, equities, perpetuals, and event outcome predictions, all taking advantage of crypto's ability to create and transfer assets without a centralized entity.
Eventually, I think this will make the view of crypto as its own asset or company class sound outdated, the same way "internet company" now sounds like 1999.
In other words, I believe blockchain will be the default invisible infrastructure that lets any asset productive today trade 24/7, 7 days a week. This means more stablecoins variants and integration, more bonds and treasuries, more RWAs, even credit, all traded onchain.
We are already seeing the beginning of this transition in things like tokenized stocks and ETF perpetuals.
And I want Surf AI to be the de facto AI analyst when this transition fully matures.
— Ryan Li, founder of Surf

How we are preparing for this future

Surf believes modern crypto technology is settling back into what it was always best at, which is onchain infrastructure. This means blockchain's unique ability to create assets, transfer assets, perpetual trading, and borrowing/lending assets.
As more real, productive assets move onchain, Surf needs to support the newly generated demand of traders analyzing these new assets that have never been traded onchain before.
Two things shipped this week that move Surf toward that.

Hyperliquid

Hyperliquid is one of the first places where we see this transformation of crypto as an infrastructure. So we support from there.
All users can now connect their Hyperliquid wallet to Surf and ask it anything about their portfolio.
Hyperliquid tells you what your account is worth. It doesn't tell you which trades are making you money and which ones are quietly bleeding you. So we indexed the whole exchange. Connect your wallet and all of that turns into a read on how you actually trade.
Hyperliquid produces 3.4 closed positions, 42.9 fills, and 31.7 oracle ticks every second. We capture every one.
Your research agent gets the same context, so you can just ask it instead.
  1. Connect your Hyperliquid wallet
  2. Ask Surf: "Am I holding my losers longer than my winners?"

U.S. equity

Surf Pro and Max members have beta access to financial data covering 4,500+ U.S. public companies.
Members can now use Surf Research across both crypto and U.S. equities all in one place.
Company fundamentals, historical financial statements, financial ratios, and market data for all U.S. companies are now available to answer your research questions.
  • "What are NVIDIA's latest revenue and earnings?"
  • "Compare tokenized stocks available on Robinhood and Kraken"
Data is supported through our API as well. Developers can access structured data, and bring them directly into their own agents and applications.
Instead of building and maintaining separate infrastructure for crypto and traditional market data, we want Surf to become a unified data and intelligence layer across both.

More models to run it

We also enabled unlimited free researches to unlock this new research capability for everyone, along with GPT Sol 5.6 and Claude Fable 5 joining the stack.
Deep Research is free for everyone now. For $0, anyone can turn hours of crypto research into a single prompt with no limit using Grok 4.6.
On top of that, two more models joined:
  • Grok 4.6: free for everyone, unlimited. Nothing changes here.
  • GPT Sol 5.6: now on Free and Pro. Free accounts get 3 researches a week.
  • Claude Fable 5: Max exclusive. The strongest analyst in the lineup.
Same research engine, same live onchain, wallet, market, and project data. You just pick the brain that runs it.
Deep Research tracks 23,000+ projects, 100M wallet addresses, live token activity across 9 chains, and answers your research question fluently in 4 languages.
Try: "Is $HYPE fairly valued right now? Analyze it against Hyperliquid's protocol revenue, revenue growth, and tokenomics."
