Spacemesh is a permissionless layer-1 blockchain using Proof-of-Space-Time (PoST) consensus to enable energy-efficient, ASIC-resistant participation by leveraging consumer storage (“smeshing”). It aims to provide fair, decentralized access for payments and smart contracts (AthenaVM) and uses the SMH token to incentivize network participation.
